Refresher U.S. Export Controls – Refresher
The US wants to control how, to whom and to which countries its products are exported, either directly or indirectly.
Companies that trade in US goods or do business with the US must comply with US export control laws. This is particularly important when it comes to the re-export of goods that originate in the US, contain significant US components or are based on US technology. US sanctions and embargoes also have a significant impact.
Professional companies in export control provide regular training for their employees. This prevents compliance violations, which can also be sanctioned abroad in the event of violations of US law. You are therefore doing the right thing by raising your knowledge of US export control law to an appropriately high level. Detailed knowledge is the best protection for exporting in compliance with US regulations. In the training course, you will deal intensively with US export control law.

- comprehensive course materials
- AWA certificate
your benefit
This training provides experienced trade compliance professionals with a practical update on the key US regulations that shape their daily risk assessments: the United States’ International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), together with companion EAR provisions where technologically germane. Pedagogically, the course flow is intentionally narrative rather than didactic in appearance: after a brief “orientation vignette” that reconnects recent high profile enforcement actions to the participants’ own portfolios, the trainers weave mini case simulations, plenary debriefs and time boxed “decision sprints” into an unbroken storyline that mirrors a real export authorisation cycle. You learn through repeated practice and application, not just listening to presentations. The agile “flex window” allow the facilitator—guided by a lightweight entry poll and live analytics from in session voting—to accentuate those subtopics that resonate most with the cohort, be that encryption carve outs, Russia embargo nuances or the perennial question of ITAR/EAR interlock. The day culminates in a forward-looking commitment exercise: each learner drafts a short transfer memorandum that maps one newly gained insight onto a concrete procedural adjustment awaiting implementation in their respective organisations. This electronic submission serves as both your personal action plan and documentation for ISO 29993 compliance - no additional preparation required.

Target group
The training is expressly tailored to an audience of senior export control officers, in house legal counsel responsible for trade compliance, technology control leads embedded in engineering or R&D, and other practitioners who already command the canonical vocabulary of US export control and now require a high density update rather than entry level instruction. By capping each session at thirty participants, the programme safeguards the conversational bandwidth necessary for peer exchange and nuanced scenario work, while permitting as many sequential deliveries as needed to reach the full population of one hundred to one hundred and fifty employees envisaged by the client.
