Update on Defense Export Controls
In case you didn't know, the traditional AWA Update on U.S. Export Controls, one of the largest events on U.S. export control law in Germany, will take place in March 2023. The three-day event is offered online. You can expect a variety of informative and inspiring presentations in which you will receive a compact overview of the most important topics in U.S. export control law from renowned speakers.
On the very first day there is an Update on Defense Export Controls. This concerns in particular the work of the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC). Topic among others: The restructuring of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations. By means of the ITAR, U.S. authorities control the export and whereabouts of arms and military equipment – worldwide. The ITAR also apply to assembled military equipment, the individual components of which may be subject to ITAR in the U.S. view. With regard to innovations in the ITAR area, the reorganisation of the ITAR was eagerly awaited. The U.S. State Department has published a preliminary final rule on the restructuring of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations. The interim final rule is intended to reorganise and consolidate the definitions in the ITAR.
In addition, there is an Update on the BIS Defense and "600 Series" as well as an update on the Defense trade Licensing and authorization procedures for re-exporters.

Before the webinar

After the successful system test, please register for your webinar via the AWA website. Shortly after the webinar registration you will receive a confirmation of receipt and then a registration confirmation by e-mail.
One to two days before the webinar, you will receive an e-mail with an access link to your webinar and the AWA Cloud. From the AWA Cloud, you can quickly and easily download the training documents for the webinar in PDF format.
Click on the access link a few minutes before the official start of the webinar. You will be taken to a virtual waiting room. As soon as the transmission is started by our organizer, you will automatically participate.
During the webinar
A chat function gives you the opportunity to communicate with the speaker during the webinar. During certain webinars, communication with the speaker is also possible via the microphone/telephone. Our speaker will show the presentation live. Usually, you can also see the speaker via livestream.
